Getting out the door for work can be a challenge especially if I do not plan my outfit and pack my lunch the night before. Today I failed on both counts. With little time to figure out lunch, I grabbed a Traders Joes Lavash wrap (1.5 grams of fat) and filled it with whatever I could find on hand:
*Step One: Add a tbsp or 2 of your favorite hummus. I used Eat Well Sweet and Spicy black bean hummus with corn relish.
*And my homemade Zesty Garlic Hummus (So much cheaper and I control the ingredients).*Next I sprinkled about a tsp. Of nutritional Yeast (Bragg Brand)
*Then I piled on the veggies: TJ’s power Greens (about a quarter of the bag) Thinly sliced Onion, Carrot straws, Tomato, (wanted to add avocado but my hubby ate the last bit š )
*A squeeze of lemon, an sprinkle of Garlic Powder and a dash of Red Pepper flakes nearly perfected it.
The finishing touch was Simply Nature Tahini Goddess Dressing- purchased at Aldi’s.
*Now roll that wrap.
I know what your thinking, that’s a lot of steps if one is in a hurry. Truthfully it took less than 10 minutes.
I did a Rachel Ray and piled the veggies in my arms. As for the spices, they live in the cabinet by the fridge which makes it easy to grab and use.
This wrap is all about customizing and using what you have on hand. Happy hummus wrapping to all!
