The title itself sounds contradictory. Can you grow a successful business and maintain your faith-openly?  I do wonder with every article I write that mentions Jesus, am I limiting myself and my audience.  Would I gain traction faster if I just wrote a faith neutral blog?  Deep down, I wonder if I would find quicker success in the mainstream.  One little omission of Jesus could change everything.  Right?

I have clearly chosen not to.  Why?

There are so many ways to answer this.  Here are two quick and complicated explanations.  I do it for me.  If you have ever loved and been loved, then you know how powerful it is.  It could be love for a parent, child, best friend or spouse.  No matter the relationship, it’s hard to keep love hidden.  When I had my children, I talked about them ad nauseam, (sorry not sorry).   When you love something or someone, you want to share.  This is how I feel about my faith in Christ.  He is  my greatest love and motivator.  To be authentically me, has required me to live my faith out loud.  It is who I am.

Second, I do it for you.  If you’re thinking I just want to brainwash you then you’ve got the wrong idea.  If I could do that, my kids would obey me flawlessly…Where can I buy that Koolaid?  Ask yourself this.  How often have you befriended someone and they turned out to be nothing like they portrayed in the beginning? Remember the disappointment?  I want you to know upfront that faith, family and business are the hot topics on the table here.  If you know that, then you can make an informed decision about this space.  I owe you that!

I also do it for those of you who are hurting and in search of love.  Inviting Jesus into my heart has been life altering.  Seriously!  I know others who would claim differently.  That is absolutely ok.  We could all be exposed to the same exact thing, but because of differing life experiences we would perceive it differently.  That’s life!  But if a single mention gives someone hope, or heals a broken heart, then it is worth it!  Someone did this for me when I needed it most.  Paying it forward is an honor!
