I’m On a 30-Pound Weight Loss Journey: Plateau Broken!

Highs:
Am I on a plateau that will return to weight loss mode? Or is my weight stabilizing and used to this current level of calories and activity? These are the two questions I wrestled with after a month-long weight loss stalemate. As much as I wanted to believe my weight would trend downwards if given enough time, I knew deep down the second inquiry was much more probable. And I think I was right. As soon as a made some minor tweaks to my diet, two more pounds melted away. Plateau broken!
Lows:
It’s one thing to know you need to make dietary changes to continue losing weight. It’s quite another to know exactly what changes to make. I felt like I was all over the place this week. Can I have a sweet potato after 7:00 pm? Is tofu a healthier, less carby, a higher-fat choice that will inch me towards weight loss? I had no clue what to change and what to leave alone. I ultimately decided to tackle breakfast and leave the rest of my macros “as is”.
In Conclusion:
Changing up my breakfast worked. I dialed in my starchy carbs. And by that, I mean, I stopped eating pancakes 4-5 days a week. Don’t get me wrong. I still have my flax, oatmeal pancakes on occasion. Just not nearly every day. So, what took the place of my fluffy flax jacks? (Say that three times fast.) Here are my new 3 breakfast combos in regular rotation. A warm sweet oven-baked plantain with decaf, tofu scramble with a side of avo. toast, or oil-free home fries (Trader Joes Brand), and veggie stir fry. As much as I love my pancakes, It’s been kind of nice to mix things up. So far, I love what I’m eating. This is good because ultimately I will have to sustain my new physique one bite at a time.
