Recently I shared the  image below on Instagram.  I see these types of platitudes all the time.  They move me in the moment and I pause for just a bit.  This one right here, has me stuck in my feelings.  It’s been days and I still can’t let it go.  There is so much power in these few words.  How many of us are sitting by waiting for a promotion or a raise year after year.  When it doesn’t come, how do you feel?  There are so many scenarios where we  find ourselves sitting on the sidelines waiting to be chosen.  But what if you’re not picked?  What if  school, work, family and friends don’t choose you.  Then what?

ARE THERE OTHER OPTIONS???

Heck yeah there are!!!!  I’m a firm believer that you can create your own options.  You get to do this by choosing you!

1.  First, get up off the couch!  You can binge watch on the daily, when your 89.  The waiting period can be the most vulnerable and unproductive phase.  Don’t waste time while you wait.  Research, pray, plan, make new connections.  Time is a gift.  Use it wisely.
2.   Take careful analysis of your true needs.  It may not be the raise you need but additional income.  Find another income source.  Maybe what you really desire is a better friend; stop trying to change the one you have invest in growing new friendships.
3.   Choosing you requires a mindset shift.  When you wait to be chosen, the power lies with them.  When you, choose you; the power lies within you.  Take back your power!
