Last night I couldn’t sleep in anticipation of writing a new blog.  I have so much to share and mounting excitement around the new direction this blog is taking.  Allow me to jump in, head first and lay out what I have planned.  The new format will focus on 3 key areas of interest to me: Faith, Finance and Fun!  Why these three areas, you might wonder?  Well,  alliteration is my jam (it’s the teacher in me:).  But, more importantly, each one holds a significant place in my life.  Let me break down the whys behind each one.

Faith – Is first up to the bat.   My faith is everything to me.  It truly does define the principles I live by.  It dictates my actions (or at least it should).  I see faith in Jesus as a choice and a privilege.  Seriously ya’ll, I believe without Him my life would have no meaning or purpose.  These are all bodacious statements on my part.  And that’s okay! We are a diverse people. I know everyone is not a Christian nor aspires to be.  You are most lovingly welcome here!! My goal is to simply share my journey of faith because it is such a gigantic part of who I am.  And maybe in the process you will feel comfortable to share your journey too.  Together we can learn from each other, find common ground, and mutual respect.  Let’s build a rich and diverse community from the inside out.

Finance – Why???  Because I want money! That’s right, Dollar Dollar Bills ya’ll!! I could find some less offensive politically correct way to say it but why waste the words?  My financial knowledge is currently that of a person trapped in an escape room.  Every once in a while I solve a riddle but I never make it out of the room.  This is an area of weakness for me and I am declaring war!  I am not (yet ) in a position to give advice but I am more than willing to take it.  I admit I need your help. The plan is to bring you along on this journey to financial health.  I do have some immediate goals in this area.  I am currently reading two great financial books, which I will share with you.  My hope is to grow in applicable financial wisdom, by consuming blogs, books, seeking out mentors and of course learning from you!  If you are a financial wiz please, please share.  And if you are on team escape room, first of all, sorry, but more importantly, let’s learn and change together!  We can do better once we know better!  We got this!

Fun!  Isn’t it self explanatory? I mean, who doesn’t like fun?  Okay, some people don’t like fun.  And that’s okay.  We probably won’t hang out in real life but we can hang out here.  So what is fun for me?  I’m so happy you asked!  I love cooking, traveling, family, and chocolate.  Yep! Chocolate!  I just love life in general and I want to share that with you.  Fun is sort of a catch all category for me.  My interests are so diverse and scattered in nature that I need this to be a place where I can store a hodge podge of goodness!  If the other two areas don’t float your boat, something here is bound to.  I have no desire to live or blog in a box.  If this resonates with your inner free spirit, Welcome!
