It’s our first Tidbit Tuesday Together!!  I have a scrumptious tidbit for us to chew on this week.  For those who have been around for a minute, you know I am big on sharing truths that will build you up!  This article is no different.  I have been mulling this bit of scripture over for a minute and it is rocking my soul!

I Corinthians 4:5 says “Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes.  He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart.  At that time each will receive their praise from God.”

This bit of scripture is loaded like a baked potato 🙂  It wouldn’t be a tidbit if I tried to tackle it all.  So here’s the deal.  I’ll make two quick points and leave the rest for you all to break down and share in the comments.

First Point:

People often judge us at our worst moments and only remember us  in that light.  God is at work in the lives  those who love him.  When we are receptive to his love, he grows us and changes us for his glory.  The work he does often happens slowly over time.  People may only remember what were and have a hard time seeing what we are becoming.  The good news is God sees us and he pust on display the work he is doing in us.  Remember, strive to  Live His Truth and fall or rise to his judgement alone.

Second Point:

Come close and listen up:  Not only do other people judge us at our worst, but we often judge ourselves with a lifetime sentence.  When others judge us, we are usually reminded while in their presence.  When we judge ourselves, we  daily remember our mistakes and down right dirty behavior.  We have to ask God to forgive us and then let’s forgive ourselves.  This can be much more difficult because our memories haunt us.  Listen ya’ll, God is the judge over all.  Don’t get drunk on your own critical spirit and place your judgement above His!  Keep moving, growing and changing in him.  Repent and keep moving forward.  He’s got enough power to forgive you and help you forgive yourself.  He will bring to light the work he is doing and has done in you.  It’s not our job to make people believe it.  It’s our job to trust God and live the change!
